Disasters can affect everyone, but individuals with disabilities often face unique challenges. This course is designed to provide tools and strategies for effective emergency preparedness tailored to their needs. Participants will learn how to create personalized plans, assemble accessible disaster kits, and identify potential risks.

The course emphasizes collaboration with caregivers, family members, and community organizations to build strong support networks. It also focuses on inclusive practices that address mobility, sensory, cognitive, and other disabilities. Self-advocacy and communication skills are highlighted to ensure individuals can navigate emergencies with confidence.

Participants will gain the knowledge needed to respond effectively in crises. By the end of the course, they will be better equipped to address their needs and promote inclusive disaster response practices. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to enhance their safety, independence, and resilience.
